  1. How wonderful to hear Sir Peter, Girling, Fandango et al once again.
As Nigel Roebuck passed the audition recently, why not plan a sequel: the Grand Prix of Chipping Sodbury (or similar), complete with, Sir Jackie, Niki, maybe a brief word from Max, funding from Bernie and of course, Sir Girling, himself.
    Bash on, chaps!

  2. Bought my issue at WH Smiths in Lancaster, didn’t get the CD, or see it on any issues?

  3. I also got my copy at WH Smith, but in the West Midlands – and no CD either. What is going on??

  4. Dear All,

If you did buy a January issue that didn’t have a CD then do call the office and give us your address so that we can post one out to you.

All the UK copies should have one attached so sorry for the inconvenience.

  5. Re your CD offer: What is wrong with your subscription department? You can’t work out how to send a copy with each magazine to subscribers outside the UK, and then expect all the worldwide subscribers to pay an extra 6.50. I find that disgusting. Not only do we have to pay from Australia an extra $16.00 but we also have to send the money at a cost of an additional $25.00.
As a subscriber to many other motoring magazines from around the world I often get ‘extras’ included with the mailing envelope at no cost.
You did the same thing with the alternate covers for the Stirling Moss edition which cost us for each cover an additional $14.55, that is if you can find the other covers by driving around to different newsagents. Why wouldn’t you include a single leaf print of the alternative covers with each overseas subscription magazine.
Your marketing people need to become more diligent in their attitude to subscribers outside the UK.
I note that you are willing to post out copies to UK sbscribers who missed out when buying from WH Smith. Why not those outside the UK.

  6. I couldn’t agree more with Graham Ward. As an ex-pat long term MS reader I receive my copies as a gift subscription from the UK – paid in Sterling. Despite the higher cover price I never receive any of the free gifts or promotional material. Surely the postal charges to Europe or even RoW can’t be so much higher as to justify what can only be seen as discrimination against overseas subscribers.
Pity really, because even after 45 years I still look forward to the next edition!

  7. l,m afraid l must agree with the two previous gentlemen,,,l have been buying the magazine for over thirty years now,, and l cannot see how it would be that expensive to include a CD for oversea’s customers,, we are paying top dollar for our magazine down here in australia,, so a few free goodies would be nice now and then,,,,,,

  8. Ditto from the Antipodes…..I have heard this referred to so often over the years and was annoyed to not get it in by subscription copy of Motorsport.

  9. Hi everybody, this is sooooooo great, I have the original record since about 30 years or so. I love it.
Peter Ustinov did it so well !!!

  10. i too am very disapointed not to have received the ustinov cd here in galway ireland particularly as i used to get the extras here some years ago i.e tapes and booklets e.g, my copy of jenks 55 mille miglia account which was a treasure (which i,ve lost). i buy my ms monthly in easons galway.

  11. I am really disapointed with your policy which consists in having two kind of subscribers : I am personnally in the sub category of those who will have to pay to receive the GP of Gibraltar CD. Thank you for that strange discrimination.

  12. I too am disappointed at not being able to receive the Grand Prix of Gibraltar CD due to living overseas. I have also just renewed my subscription for 2 years and despite paying in UK pounds for my subscription, I was not offered the chance to even choose a CD archive !

Come on Motorsport – play the game.

    Frustrated in NZ

  13. As a US subscriber I would appreciate a magazine that is on time and printed on the same quality of paper that is used in the UK. There has obviously been a dely in printing AGAIN. Then to really make me happy, since I pay a small fortune to subscribe, I would like the freebees the UK subscribers receive.

You have untill May to rectify all of the above or I will not renew.

    Regards,

    Bob G Smith

  14. I agree with Bob Smith. I have yet to recieve the January issue. The last two issues have been very late and to add insult to injury, they have each included a note telling me how much earlier I’m going to recieve the magazine! I renewed my subscription in November for two years. That appears to have been a mistake.
It is also very irritating as the January issue of the magazine has been on the shelves at bookstores for several weeks now. Patrick Ferguson

  15. Following my posting on January 18th I have been contacted by Admin at Motorsport Magazine and the issues that I raised have been resolved. Thank you Motorsport for reading and acting on my comments. I look forward to many more years of receiving what is probably the worlds best Motosport magazine.
    Regards.

  16. Very, very disappointed as a US subscriber that we did not receive the CD. Someone(s) made a bad decision.

There still is time to correct the omission in future US editions, even if it is a separate mailing.

While on the subject of CD, I previously have suggested the CD ” The Sounds of Goodwood ” , Simon Taylor interview of Nick Mason, is reissued ?
