Long Beach would be the only viable street circuit for F1. Well, maybe Vegas. I think any existing road course in the states would need massive reworking to meet F1 standards. Since I'm in So Cal of course I want to see F1 back on the west coast. I hope that Mr. Pook can pull it off.

Having the GP at Indy brought US F1 fans from all over the country, but having a race in Vegas or on the West Coast would eliminate many midwest and east coast fans that cannot afford the trip. And if the 'circus' can go to Interlagos year after year, and the 'docks' of Valencia, why not any number of great road circuits here in the US? How about Watkins Glen, the spiritual home of F1 in the US? No F1 fan wants to see another ridiculous street race.

No doubt F-1 should and needs to be in the US, but wasn't Chris Pook behind the failed bid to bring F-1 to San Francisco few years back? I still believe that the Speedway would be the best place to have it. Maybe Mr. Ecclestone thinks that the city is a bit boring, but it surely cannot be worse than the Bahraini desert.

“You’ve got to have an incredible venue,”

It would be wonderful if that ever happened. F1 should run in the USA, and that's it.

I mean, I wouldn't it be great, seeing a modern F1 car through Watkins Glen, Elkarth Lake (drool...), Sebring, Long Beach...I know it's almost impossible, and in some circuits we wouldn't get much overtaking...but it would be really exciting.

About the non-exisiting tracks or facilities, well, if it can be done at Donington, I'm sure it could be pulled off somewhere.
